Jazz Soul ArtistsThe Impellers> The Impellers on Myspace Starting life as Ed Meme & The Forms, a name change to something far easier to pronounce came about when offered a deal by prolific UK label Freestyle Records in 2008. The Impellers are bringing a heavy, heavy authentic funk sound both live and in the studio. The band features screaming hammond, true soul vocals, huge horns and a rhythm section producing more energy than a Dutch wind farm. Since forming in 2000 the 3-piece have forged a well-earned reputation on the international Deep Funk & Soul scene with a series of acclaimed releases aimed squarely at the dancefloor and the Sunday afternoon barbeque! Jake Mason (Hammond Organ), Lance Ferguson (Guitar) and Ivan Khatchoyan (Drums) formed Cookin' On 3 Burners inspired by the Hammond Soul-Jazz masters such as Jimmy Smith, Reuben Wilson and Jimmy McGriff. The Cookin' sound is drenched in the bluesy, soulful influence of the late 60's/early 70's output of labels such as Prestige, Bluenote & Groove Merchant. The Baker Brothers> The Baker Brothers Official Website > The Baker Brothers on Myspace Bournemouth-based Chris Pedley met up with Brothers Dan and Rich at a dodgy Function gig around six years ago. The trio then went on to write and perform their unique style of dirty Funk. The Band released three 7-inch singles and their first album, "Ten Paces" on Bournemouth label, ARSE Records, before being taken on by Independent label, PEDDLER Records in 2004. They have since toured Japan three times and have payed a wide range of venues across Europe. SK Radicals> SK Radicals on Myspace SK Radicals were formed in Sean khan's kitchen 6 years ago. The band consists of Sean Khan (saxophone, keys, vocals and production), Jacob Eggay (vocals), Susan Allotey (vocals) and Derek McKintyre (bass). Individual members of the band have worked and played with a number of artists ranging from Jamiroqaui, Roy Ayers, Jazz Crusaders to Clifford Jarvis. The first single, Reachin 4 Da Farside, was released in 2001 and quickly became a 'cult classic' (Adrian Gibson, Jazz Cafe magazine), owing to the success of this 12" the band were offered an album deal by People records. The subsequent album, 'When will we belong', was produced by Bugz in the Attic and established the band as a new force on the music scene.
