Cook DanielDangle Grooves© 2008 CJK PublishingRefreshing debut album by Holland based Cook Daniel. A nice mix of vocal and instrumental smooth jazz and lounge tunes with Spanish/African and funky influences. Compared to a lot of other lounge disks, composer and arranger Cook Daniel manages to surprise with a melange of variation with remarkable injections from guest vocalist Alma Nieto and Marcel Fisser on guitar.
Our toptracks : Ping Pong, Tu Besos and Umalaay. Duration : 55.20 (10 tracks) Genre : Smooth Jazz | Lounge Labeled : Recommended
Shawn LeeSoul in the Hole© 2009 Ubiquity RecordsHell yeah ! Once again Shawn Lee manages to create an album with a sound frighteningly close to the melancholy of an old 7" record. On Soul in the Hole you'll discover a treasure of Shawn's favourite 60's and 70's sounds. Very addictive indeed and while listening to this album, I've got the impression of being in an old school cult film ... struttin' the streets on my way to find more 'Soul in the Hole'. Littered with guest vocalists Fanny Franklin, Nicole Willis, Paul Butler of The Bees, Karime Kendra, Kirin Lee and Darondo.
Dope album. Our toptracks : Soul in the Hole, Jigsaw and The Stuff. Duration : 38.22 (11 tracks) Genre : Soul | Funk Labeled : Highly Recommended
Lizz FieldsPleasureville© 2008 Lizz Fields & Tristan LeralSecond album by Philly songstress Lizz Fields. Pleasureville contains a collection of midtempo souljams and intimate, cosy ballads with small sprinkles of funk and blues music. Clean, well produced tracks with most striking factor, Lizz' pure, honest and appealing voice. Not a ground breaking album but certainly one that is an enrichment for your collection.
Our toptracks : Pleasureville, Day day Day, Runnin' on Empty and Oasis. Duration : 52.35 (15 tracks) Genre : Soul Labeled : Recommended |
