Musiex (Talking Loud)

Of course there's always someone who has to be first.
And who could be better than our winners of the TopTrack 2008 Award.
Talking Loud lead singer Musiex took the time (in between working on their new album, performing with Giovanca, ...) to think about her five albums that changed her life and is more than happy to share them with all you JazzandSoulers out there.
So here goes ...

STEVIE WONDER - INNERVISIONS

It's hard to choose just one Stevie album, because I'm a huge fan, but I especially like the dark, psychedelic, electronical sound of this album "Too high" and "Visions" remain straight up brilliant songs and the way he puts his emotions in his voice and arrangements is so inspirational.

CHAKA KHAN - WHAT 'CHA GONNA DO FOR ME

My parents took me to the North Sea Jazz festival as a teenager and I bought this album, because of the nice colours ;-) and because I wanted to check her out some more, not knowing that this was one of her best solo albums!
When I go out nowadays and I'm at a club where the dj plays "I know you, I live you" you can find me rushing to the dancefloor and screaming along with this tune. When I auditioned for the Conservatory I did "Night in Tunesia"...... (very ambitious move....LOL) Her timing and vocal range are RIDICULOUS and I love the jazzy approach to this disco album

EARTH WIND & FIRE - ALL 'N ALL

What can I say about them, I believe they're from a different planet.... This album has so many cool sounds and influences and "Runnin' " is one of my favourite tunes I'm really into changes in music and they can make heavy fusion still sound so catchy!
